On 12 November 2019, ‘BMW Munich’ commissioned a consortium, comprising HABAU Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH, MCE, Efficient Technical Solutions and Aiolos Engineering Corporation with a sizeable expansion of the BMW Group Research and Innovation Centre ‘FIZ’, located in Munich. A state-of-the-art aero-acoustic wind tunnel and a development centre for electromobility are at the core of the build. For the car manufacturer, this investment represents an important step in the process of technologically advancing all BMW Group vehicles.
“This contract will allow us to throw the combined weight of our various specialist fields behind this project as a professional partner for technologically complex projects”, explains Hubert Wetschnig, CEO of the HABAU GROUP. The unique challenges associated with delivering the various buildings as well as renovating the existing research facility will set new global standards and also provide the executing companies with significant insights. The HABAU GROUP (HABAU Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH and MCE) share of the contract value is 68 percent, with MCE taking on the role of consortium lead.
